Well, I’ll be; a Farmall tractor in old Doc’s shop that is OLDER than I am! (photo 1). It is a model F-20 and it’s a 1936 according to its serial number 39729 located on the back side of its toolbox (photo 2). It’s a nice old tractor and it is well endowed with new tires and a new radiator. The owner Rick Meyers from the south side of Oshkosh dropped it off with the instructions for me, stating that it will not start without pulling it, and it runs poorly if at all. The engine turns and has compression, but there is no audible click coming from the E 4 A magneto. This would mean that its impulse mechanism is not working, and without it there will be no spark at cranking. Having a quick look at the K-5 carburetor, if the inside looks like the outside (photo 3), we certainly are in for a carburetor rebuild and more I am sure before this adventure is over.
